High voltage cables are designed in such a way that they do not cause electrical stress (strain), any discharge or insulation deterioration. When the structure of the cable itself is disturbed in any way (as in the attachment or header systems), the stress structure formed along the cable is disrupted. In order to prevent this discharge and insulation deterioration, a stress control system is needed to reduce the stress level at the screen ends. In cable head or cable splice systems, a separate stress control layer inside the splice and cap body performs this stress control function. .
